Company History
Pacific Convenience and Fuels started operations as PetroSun West.
In 2007, PetroSun West LLC, originally based in Kent, Washington, purchased the retail marketing assets of Time Oil. At the completion of that transaction, PetroSun West owned nearly 100 gas and convenience store locations in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
“The Time Oil transaction was completed to catapult us into new portfolios,” Sam Hirbod said, at the time of the purchase.
And catapult PetroSun West, it did! Less than one year later, PetroSun West announced the purchase of the remainder of ConocoPhillips’ U.S. marketing assets. This new portfolio brought the company an opportunity to increase its assets and to form strong alliances with major fuel and convenience store brands.
However, the name PetroSun West no longer fully represented the newly expanded company’s goal of being the best in retail marketing. An internal contest yielded a new name improving the representation of the company’s strength and focus: Pacific Convenience & Fuels.
Pacific Convenience & Fuels is based in Pleasanton, CA and currently owns more than 570 stores in California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington through multiple channels of trade including company owned and operated, fee operated and dealer operations.
